Default how was this fat beat done?

DJ Rush - Get on up (Chris Liebing mix)

YouTube - ‪DJ Rush - Get on up (Chris Liebing mix)‬‎

one of my favourite techno beats of all time, can anyone shed any light on how this was achieved?

Good track mate. Are you trying to find out how the kick was made or the actual loop itself?

    standard schranz

layered kicks + verb + heavy compression
Heavily eq'd hats with very short delays
low low bass that sits just below everything without any prominence
    repetitive cheesy sample

get everything sat nicely in its own space with subtle verb and eq on individual tracks then crush the **** out of it on the master channel

schranz, morbid? Perhaps it's produced using the same kind of process but I wouldn't put this in the schranz category.

I have to say, I do like this remix. Back when leibing had balls.

Sweet- I didn't know it was on T Classixx. I have it on Pro... something or other. The flip has Bang the ****in walls.

I have to say, I'm not much a schranz fan these days- it all got very samey (haha I know, it all sounded the same before right?)

I like the older schranz though. gritty hard techno tbh.

yeah its on projex as well mate

Im with you on the older stuff though

I stopped paying attention after construct rhythm, lifeform, working vinyl etc started putting out the same old shit

early construct rhythm though was the stuff - Schall & Rausch, K D Smith, A K Katz, Pogadl etc etc

    Then it turned bollocks

I love the older stuff. Pre 2008 was savage, it all got boring after that. Still I can look back and say "I warmed the A.Paul crowd up with schranz". Hahaha (sorry about that Mr. Paul)

That's gotta be the first time I've ever heard anyone describe that track as Schranz.

It's TECHNO, straight up, no ****ing about, TECHNO.

mate if youre Chris Liebing you can call any old shit faster than about 130bpm Schranz

YouTube - Chris Liebing - The Real Schranz

    YouTube - Chris Liebing - (B1) Stigmata 8

Its in my Schranz box, along with working vinyl, lifeform, stigmata, carnage, definition of mayhem, artilery etc

If its german, 2000 - 2005 ish and hard as **** I lump it in under Schranz

    call me a wrongun

working vinyl, lifeform, stigmata I wouldnt class these labels as schranz just hard techno tbh. Andreas Kremer has always done is own thing. Id find it hard to class his music as schranz.

when i think schranz i think , marco remus , sven wittekend, frank kvitta, obi, lukas, matt m maddox , greg notill, etc etc

also calling stigmata is like calling glenn wilsons heroes label schranz

Id argue it depends how far back you go

The term schranz has been kicking around since 1997 ish

The producers mentioned above output tends to be from 2002 - 2004 onwards

3 against 1 though I'll concede defeat - just dont call it tarnce alright

YouTube - new kids on the block Call it what you want

yeah, it's all subjective really. Wasn't it Chris himself that gave Schranz it's name? Schranz back then was MUCH different to what it is today.

At the end of it all though, beats is beats and all under the techno brolly.
