techno is an acquired taste without doubt.

yoshimitsu - you might walk into a backroom somewhere and hear some techno & be hooked one day, I know a few people who didnt like it, but then have been converted after a hearing a dark as fuck track in a club

whatever floats your boat though innit.

I allways used to find Techno at difficult genre of music to get into, i used to find it too progresive. but i must say that in the last year or so i've really got into. I think this is because there seems to be a lot more use of different sounds in the techno tracks that i've been listening to. I also like the fact that techno can be fused with other dance music genre's, mainly Hardstyle.

The reason for me is because I like pretty much every other style of dance music, the only one I don't like too much is techno. As has been mentioned here before there are many different styles of techno, so I want to make sure i've experienced them all and given it a really good try before I resign myself to the fact that I just don't like it.

I think my attitude is the right one - I know people who give things little chance before declaring that they absolutely don't like it and never will. I'm pretty open minded and have a pretty eclectic music taste, after all its better to experiment with all kinds of music. I'd appreciate any links people can give, any recommendations to any kind of techno that I might perhaps enjoy because i'm fast losing interest in hardstyle, more so everyday and the worrying thought is that there really isn't anything else I like out there at the moment.

Techno is not to my taste either. I dont think i will ever buy Techno either although there are a few tunes, now and again, which catch my attention or that i do actually enjoy. I dont dislike Techno but its just not to my taste.

    I love and DJ both.

I even have played both togeter.

I don't find one better than another. However, many people will argue that Hardstyle is much easier to produce than Techno.
