Default Been Out for a few years

    Hi.

I am in the process of putting my home studio back together after stopping producing for a few years (after becoming a dad).

I have always been into and produced Techno. More Advent/Ben Sims than minimal.

I already have Live but was wondering what other VST's (instruments and effects people may recommend). I used to use a lot of external hardware but sold all that when I had kids and have decided to concentrate on Software now.

Any pointers on the software side of things would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

Get a copy of reason if you haven't already... rewired as an instrument its the business, especially if your background is hardware based.

D16 Group software are great for the classic roland machines but as Jay said, reason is a great start for instruments and effects

try and get as far as you can with Live all on it's own....

I'm not personally using it any more but when I was I found most plugins more of a distraction than an assistance.

play with Live for a bit. You'll soon find out what you're unhappy with.

If you've got Live suite you've got everything you need to knock out whatever you need. - and perhaps even if you don't have suite.
