In cubase, does yer sounscard show up on the devices/ device setup/ VST multitrack/ Asio Driver?? A lot of new soundcards r a real shi* 2 install... The way 2 know if it's well installed is if it's asio driver shows up on the relevant drop-down list in sx, if it doesn't then u need 2 re-install.
One trick u should try is to just use a different slot on the motherboard from the one u r using now.
Unistall drivers, swap pci slot, install, re-inicialise win,....
some maudio soundcards require u 2 run a file from the driver cd... this might b called something like xp_post_installer (xppostinstaller.exe)... Again this will install some new drivers.... move 2 the new step..
now this is the tricky part... just go start/ definitions/ device manager/ system/ harware/ system manager/ soundcard controlers, video and games... on this u should find yer soud card listed,,,,
right click on it /update controler/ Install from a list or a specific location/ Don't look. I'll coose the controler 2 install/ SLECT THE DRIVER THEN CLICK DISK.... explore till u get the cd, xp driver, now u should have a file showing, select it, ... update---
do this 2 the several drivers on yer soundcard... or till it shows up in cubase and works,,, U migth need 2 do that a few times (update the drivers and restart windows)...
hope that works...
