Singularity is 10!!!And for the 10th release we celebrate with a genre smashing release.
The mysterious underworld figure Villain returns to us, handing us some spoils of his war against the genre police.

The EP kicks off in grande fashion with the explosively dark and grimey Down in Flames.Sitting somewhere between techno, industrial, noise and dubstep, this beast of a track uses off kilter rhythms, a sluggish, dragging, grinding moody bassline and bursts of noise to drag us around the dancefloor.Like some great unstoppable biomechanical war machine, this track smashes into a breakdown leading us to a twisted vocal supplied by the act Battle Flags.A deathly sigh takes us into the second half of the tune where the sound of a thousand sharpened knives hovers over the strange electronic groans of the tortures souls in purgatory.
A genre defying, and truly massive slab of genius.

The 2nd track from Villain stays in the same region of genre crosstalk.
Pounding kicks provide pile driver stability to a massive oscillating bass drone.Snappy percussion drives the beat forward surrounded by rusting, decayed noise hits and scrapes.A sudden blast of noise hits you over the back of the head after a short break and you realise you are staring into the headlights of some enormous rusting juggernought blasting it's fetid horn at you to get the hell out of the way.
The second breakdown, literally breaks down, into chaos, and then the rebuild is a real surprise.Housey stabs and more pounding beat construction lead you into a danse macabre for the final act.
A true horror show of a tune that will smash any discerning dancefloor into pieces.

For the 3rd track we have a remix of track 1 provided by the truly sublime Inigo Kennedy.Inigo is an artist we have always respected, a truly unique force within the techno movement, Inigo is a constant innovator, an artist and explorimenter who never gets caught up in trends or fashions.
The remix he provides is a pounding exercise in ebb and flow. The noise of the original is enhanced and moves in and out of the piece like waves on a beach. The vocals become percussive stabs, strings enhance the tension, and the percussion becomes more frenetic. The overall effect is an austere, sharp, almost cold experience that chills your emotions whilst still pushing you to move your feet. Disturbing, in a good way!
    Genius at work!!!

The final tune for the EP is the Voidloss remix of Down in Flames.
V turns in an industrial dubstep piece, heavy heavy halfstep beats keep the grinding sub in check. The sharpened knives are sculpted into a rhythm pattern for the top end and the vocals from the orignal are brought up front, and twisted in a demonic way.
The overall feel is very heavy, and more stripped back than the original.
The break smashes us back into the second half with a techno riff that spins to a different time than the main rhythm, increasing the tension, and the bass starts to grind more noisily.
This mix really takes the ethic of dubstep and concentrates it into a really heavy, hard, extremely dark piece of work that would cause total carnage on a big soundsystem.
The 10th release of Singularity leaps forwards again, showing innovation, dancefloor savvy, and emphasizes the forward thinking stance of the label
