    Anyone built anything in Max/MSP??
    the Jungulator was made in Max afaik, did a gig or two at the same nights as Matt but heard nothing in the past few years. He had some technical issues with Max's performance and various other limitations iirc. Still, what he'd done with it was a good achievement.

    IMHO it's a nice way to get people interested in making software, although the real deal is far more involved than GUI based "connect the code", so that'd be the big plunge.

    So what your saying is that the big software plugins/effects developers use different software which is alot more complicated than max??

    Soz, I wasn't notified of your reply.

    Yes, NI, Propellerheads, etc. all use C++. It's not for beginners, but if you're willing to put in the time to learn it, it's worth it.

    I've also seen some decent stuff done with VB to, which I wouldn't have expected but it proves that as long as it's a compiled computer language you can get reasonable results. See buzzmachines for that.

    Truth is nowerdays even with C++, developing audio applications is much easier than back in the 90s when we had to develop our own audio DSP routines. The audio functions are pretty much made for you so you just piece them together much like in Max/MSP, just it's not graphical and definitely not limited in anyway.
