Are they actually working? This goes to most new members really.
Is anyone on here a Slinky goer who's been converted to Mark's "sound".
I am by no means trying to provoke a confrontation I'm genuinely interested to see if this is working.

I reckon the intimacy of the whole underground gets lost in that club.Originally Posted by sean.demaine

Look I know it looks like I'm over-reacting to this post, but I know Corzy's net manner well and I need to say this.
I'm not playing Slinky cause it's an underground venue. Yes, the WHOLE intimacy of the underground IS lost in that club but there IS a place it the corner of that club where there is a serious music vibe. And we need those people in underground music. So next time I play an 'underground' venue perhaps they'll turn up. And they'll share the intimacy that we all know exists in venues where the promoters are in it for the music and people look at each other because of a hi-hat change :)
As far as I'm concerned, if I achieve that, that's my job done. And done proud.
What we don't need is musical snobs. And that's where Corz and me differ. Because Corz is one. I hate this!!! It ruins underground music!!! It creates barriers and boundaries where there shouldnt be. Corbz laughs at hard house people and Slinky ppl when they show an interest, but he's chasing ppl away from good music!
Loads of ppl do this. They laugh and snigger like children. Which achieves nothing for music. All it does in my eyes is make their ego's bigger and keeps everything for themselves.
Corbzy I love ya. You're a long term and valued member of this forum but please please sit down and think about what I'm saying. Don't just hit reply and immediately get defensive cause that's not why I'm writing this at 4am in the morning (when I really should be listening to my records for tomorrow!!!)
After so many years doing this I really feel conversion and education is the key.

has employed for some years past, is an evil. It is dangerous because it makes ppl
independent. You see the aim of education is the knowledge not of fact, but of values.
Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do
not use compulsion, but let early education be rather a sort of amusement; this will
better enable you to find out the natural bent of yourself.

surley it works the other way to ???? like people from the "underground" going to places like slinkys so see mark, instead of the smaller nights on in the same area at the same time ??. like money is tight for most of us and number of nights out can be limited ? so if i say go see mark at slinkys last night i might not now be able to go to the grove next week ?? therefore benifiting the promoter who only cares for money, instead of someone like tommo who in it for the love of music..
i agree totally with what you say mark, but every coin has two sides.
genderisation is what kills the scene, not the venue and who it is played too. i personally belive that mark paying at slinkys brings the music i love to a wider audiance, which in the long term will hopefully benifit me. it aint like hes performing a track from blackout audio on top of the pops !! and if he was so cunting what ???? surley to bang out the music you love to the most widest audience is what its all about ?? who would turn it down ??
softley, softley, catchy monkey.
hmmm see what you're trying to say. but think about his too: i say that if ppl are into the grove they will save for the grove. just like ppl who were into the country club saved for that. cause that's what part of being something special does to you. they will not go to slinky well perhaps a few will to see what the hype is about or perhaps they will if they have a little bit more aside.
or am i totally wrong?
thoughts required!!!!
support your local underground scene, not your local money making dickheads
surely the dance sceene is about enjoying yourself to music you like, whaching DJs you enjoy, whetjer its Uberdruck or ''Rob Tissera!!''Originally Posted by DJ Corbzy

He also has not just dissapeared from the underground sceene!
IF YOU DONT LIKE HIM PLAYING SLINKY, DONT GO!!!!
ehemthis post isn't about liking it if Mark plays at Slinky its about his reason for doing it (apart from earning a living of course).
And what is a new age hardhouser Corbz?
I'd get banned if I said Stu...Originally Posted by Addict
