I reckon it must be working, although I can't say for certain. From my experiences in clubs people who have never heard of mark eg before end up loving him by the end of his set. Some people won't like him but that comes down to musical taste... for the people that like it hard, he is the man.Originally Posted by Addict
Slinky is a big event and caters for most commercial and SOME underground trance doesn't it? So surely some of these people at Slinky will hear the harder edge and think "fukking great... I love this..." and because they haven't explored outside of slinky or perhaps slinky style evetns... they will go looking for where Mark Eg next plays... and then they will see other DJ's and so on.
At least that's how I feel it works and I believe what Mark is doing is working... and its the people he gets interested in the harder edge of music that may one day be paying the door fee's for line ups and events or even records people like you and me may create... so I have nothing but respect for him in what he is doing as it gives all of us more friends and a bigger audiance, if you intend to make or mix music for a living in the future.
