    Default Headphones (Sony or Sennheiser)?

    Hi Guys,

This is regarding dj use not production use, but I need to make a decision out of these two, can people please comment on both and give me a recommendation, though the Sony's are more expensive I am willing to pay for them, so exclude price. Also with my mixing I prefer a lower midi range, I like a deeper sound to monitor rather than a high mid range sound, hope uz can help, thanks.

Never used the Sennheiser's but I have to say I hate the Sony's. To artifical bass heavy. Better choise are the pioneers. I have those and LOVE EM..

I hate Sony, too, at the moment. In compare to Pioneer, or Technics, it doesn't accpet so long usage, because the turning joint is made form plastic, and already broken on mine ones. I have another troubles with cable inside, so sometimes, I hear just one headphone.. Sony, never again...

Between the two, I'd say Sennheiser, but personally, I prefer Technics...

For Djing I'd go for the rp-dj1200 never had a prob. with mine, the wire is incredably resitent the sound is good enought 4 djing... I have used mine for at least 3 years, when these fail all get me some new 1s, also they are much cheaper.

The HD25 are really harsh on yer ears, I don't even us' em as much for production!

Yeah, my sony's split too. crap plastic ones, so I bought some DT770s which have a lot of strong metal where the sony's used plastic. Seem pretty indestructable so far.

never used sony's but i've got a pair of hd25sp's there good headphones and fairly durable. I've had mine about 3 years now. the shitter with them though is that because the cable splits and goes into both headphones it often gets tangled and twisted, this ****s the lead up and will adventualy break it no matter how much care you take it you can't stop it tangling.

I'm not sure how it is in Europe, however here in the States people were complaining about the quality of the Sony's and now they're selling them with 2 year warranty plan.
If they'll break (mine did twice) they'll give you a new pair. As soon as the warranty will expire I will never again buy those headphones.
