I gurantee we will have heard all this "new style" has to offer countless times before....its just a floodgate for 1001 "Essential Jump Style" compilations to be perfectly honest and anyone who cant see that just has to look back at hard house, nu nrg, hardbag, hand bag, hard nrg, hi nrg blah blah blah

there is a new style genre coming out of hardstyle called jump style
its more like simpler sounds less melody but the bassline is very bouncy
one of the top hardstyle record shops have got some good examples

no no fairplay... but I was more interested in talking about the music itself as opposed to "politics" of music.

I appreciate what your saying mate, I think its not that good music and yea its bit of a commercial blag when you think of how it will be promoted.

But the actual "sound" that this "jump style" is representing I was curious to hearing peoples thoughts on, setting aside whether it should or should not be seperated from hardstyle or even be allowed to have its own name as "jump style".

From what I've heard its VERY basic... and I've not always been keen on the releases on STIK which have these beats as the track sounds too slow in my opinion.

I find it to be quite light and cheesy in comparison to hardstyle, perhaps mainly because the emphasis is more on the kick than the bass, but also because of the cheesier vocals. I wouldn't really associate it with hardcore.

I don't like it personally. A lot of it sounds like something you'd hear on a Clubland CD.

it IS totally different to hardstyle, which is why i also listed them tracks at the end of my post! therefore, genre name required imo, so "jumpstyle" can stay.
it's not like how the difference between harder hard trance and hardstyle was, as i said, you cant really compare hardstyle and jumpstyle, like you could hard trance & hardstyle....or even that jumpstyle takes elements from hardcore even (cos i dont think it does personly.)
the stuff i have listened to so far bores the hell outta me!

Yeah I agree totally Chaz. Definitely would not relate Jump to Hardstyle. Jump would exist even if hardstyle never had.
