    Default Hardcore Reprezentin !

Excuse my ingorance if this subject has been mentioned on another thread but i gotta say what a top sausage job the ledgendary SHARKEY & HIXXY did on RADIO 1 on thursday night with the "John Peel is not enough show"

If you missed this then you missed out, Jon Doe aka CLSM,Scott Brown,Dougal they were all there for what i think was a truly historic night for Radio 1.

Sure hardcore has been played on R1 before,John Peel.,Dave Pearce etc but not to the extent of having an actuall show !

But the main question has to be WHERE THE **** WAS MARK EG ?

Fair enough Mark is no cheesy Hardcore DJ but to represent a broader spectrum in hardcore he shudda been there.
    :!:

Just listening to the recording i made of the show and without any chemicals at all iam comming up like a cunt. ;)

Yeah it was an excellent show indeed. Played some quality Gabba tracks too, the hardcore chatrooms were choca block throughout the show an everyone was on the case texting the show an emailing radio1 to try an make sure it becomes a regular thing.

If youz did miss it you can listen to it again here - www.bbc.co.uk/radio1

If you listened it wasn't just about Hardcore that was just the basis, It was about having a harder edge style of music on radio 1 more often and it's safe to say that Mark plays Hard !

Jon Doe's petition on the radio 1 website is to get "harddance" on the radio.
But the actual show that was on last week was an idea that the producer of the Oneworld show had that was influenced from Jon Doe's thing.
The Producer's idea was to get all of the big guns in from the hardcore scene to do a 2 hour show that was all.

    I did listen, you said

"Fair enough Mark is no cheesy Hardcore DJ but to represent a broader spectrum in hardcore he shudda been there"

if ud have said hard dance then that would have been different.

agreed with downwards too, all that was played was CHEESE!

No way will that become a weely show. Every record had exactly the same purpose: fast beat, simplistic cheesy melody. Its a niche of dance music, which itself is a niche of the musical spectrum. There are many more respected DJs and styles that are always gonna get more airtime. Basically because they play cooler, better music.

Fair enough TechnoRaver you are right in what you say, the show was very 1 dimentional.

I just think the chance was missed to show a different audience of listeners what the harder sound is all about because it's not just vocal influenced Hardcore which was what was portraid.

    Still enjoyed it though.

    Anyway back to the techno.

    Corbz mate trust,

i used to think exactly like u. Why would u really not want it on radio?
It would only be a good move for the scene, if it were done properly by the djs who are at the forefront of the scene.

I can't see it as a good move Chris, I mean the whole point of listening to underground music, and attending underground events is because it doesn't have that town/club atmosphere and it isn't unintelligent drone.

I feel that situations like this where they are starting to book Mark at Slinky's, play Hardcore on Radio 1, Tidy DJ's etc jumping onto Harder styles of music is only gonna bring wankers to the events we love and bring wankers to the job we wanna do.

    A bad thing.

i do definately see what your saying. Theres commercialism in every scene , The underground is what u make of it.
Having hard trance on radio wouldnt ruin the underground vibe at places like seaton etc, it couldnt.
hard trance doesnt need radio coverage its big enough already for decent producers to make a more than comfortable living, but bringing more people into a scene is always healthy,
