Broken Beats!!!

There was a thread somewhere about hardcore techno and i was explaining about a new style called broken beats.

Ive put this track up to scare some of you!!! And show u what its all about!!!

Just had a quick listen and you're right it does sound pretty scary. I don't really know enough about hardcore to comment - it's just not my bag really.
But I find the category/label for the style of this track as broken beat a bit confusing. I don't want to get bogged down in the whole "what style is it?" type discussion, but I thought Broken Beat was that west London sound played by IG Culture and Phil Asher at clubs like the Co-op ? That's why I listened to this track, cos a mate of mine who is really into that broken beat/nu jazz style told me he's noticed loads of old techno noises and sounds creeping into the stuff they are playing there, so I thought this might be in that style. But it ain't, not by a long shot.
Confused ? I know I am.....:lol:

I can see where you think that this tune is jungle, but a lot of the tunes that they produce are completely different. The producers,Doormouse,Venetian Snares and stuntrock, have pioneered this style of music and have called it broken beats. Heres a couple more to see what i mean.
