i think its down to at the time it was mostly fresh ideas and a lot of it was very exciting as we were witnessing new sounds and trance going in a new direction, i dont think going back is the way but i also think weve hit a point were if we stay here its all going to go down hill fast.Originally Posted by edk
i do however belive there was more variation a few years ago, or at least people were allowing more into the scene, as in hard trance was covering more ground, now with what seems a massive amount of sectioning off and categorising (perhaps it was there back then but i didnt notice it) the sound has become very samey and tracks are sounding like they have been forged from the same template.
producers need to get back in the frame of mind of moving forward instead of what seems to be "lets make another fairly decent track that sounds like everything else but will sell because its ok"
