    well..

    that was terrible.

i see antonio's point about promotion, but i'd always like to see techno promted as an art and as such i think this is negative.

    cheers.

How is it negative if he is expressing his art the way he sees fit with his vision. Not all of us share the same vision or have the same voice of expression that's for damn sure.

    fair enough and very true.

i feel it's negative in the way that it looks (form the public eye) like a bunch of misfit freaks laughing over a compressed loop. instead of the hard work and true inspiration some people grind out in their techno pieces. as much as he has the right. feel it is not positive, and i mean in the way of promoting the music commercially..

For commercial success all you need is something which is going to stick in someone's head and this tune has it by way of the lyrics and the beats. IMO There's nothing wrong in having a commercially succesful tune, it doesn't make you any less underground.

BTW, the video is funny as **** and I would love to see it on terrestrial TV. Top of The Pops watch out.

call the techno police and have him arrested!!!

no, man, i don't know, i can't agree with this. yeah, while this doesn't fit my "world view" of what i would like all techno to be, i think it's fun.

i think techno actually needs more shots of humor like this from time to time before it gets so serious (and no longer fun) that it completely disappears up its own ass. do we really want this music to become so serious that it becomes completely inaccessible except for the select few and therefore garner no more new recruits?

I'm calling it a wanker because of its homophobia, not because it didn't know what Rush looks like. hmmm.

Sorry, got my on today, I hate people that come out with things like that. For ****s sake.

No problem. I think the post may just be referring to the fact he comes across with some camp/gay mannerisms in the video, just an observation on my part.

Yeah I'm sure that's what they're referring to, I just felt that they were saying it like it's a bad thing. Came across to me like "hurhur he's a faggot" :dontevengothere:

    Anyways..

Personally I thought the video was pretty naff, but then I don't sit down and watch MTV or any other music programs on the box.. Could appeal to different people, at the end of the day it's clear he's trying to appeal to a new market which in my opinion is a good thing. Open minds always welcome.

I can't believe that just because an established techno artist has made a "VIDEO" (Shock Horror, bang goes his underground credentials) it can provoke 6 pages of people banging on about it being such a bad thing (Admittedly, all of what's posted here is not all bad, but 6 pages over a video, c'mon)

I'm not saying it's something I'd do, but for christs sake, pull yer heads out of your arses, it's just a sodding video..

you lot must have REALLY boring jobs to continue banging on about it when at the end of the day it's neither here nor there.. Rush did a video, so what?
    Get over it...

BTW: You've all done a really good job at letting everyone know there's a new DJ Rush video out, well done lads, nice work...

ah c'mon, you've given your fair contribution to the thread too! Not everyone is complaining about it though, it's been a balanced arguement. I think many people are just saying if they like it or not, not if he should have done it. The video isn't great imo, although I just don't like the song... With with a big record company, snappier radio edit, and a push in the right places I could see this going top 10 pretty much anywhere.

sorry, just I see a lot of po-faced-ness, BOO HISS, you can't do a video with techno, it's against the "Rules" (???)...
that particular mix of that track (On the video) is the only one I've ever heard that I actually liked, and I don't think the video is that bad, I just think fair play...
it's just when people say "That's pathetic".. Why? Why is it pathetic? just sounds to me like spitting out a rhetoric that people have read in some interview with some techno artist somewhere about being "Underground"...

What is Underground anyway? working your ass off and never making any money cos your too COOL and UNDERGROUND to be into any of that shit..
I call that cutting off your nose to spite your face...

I respect people not liking it or whatever, but to call it "pathetic" is er well, pretty pathetic really...

Again, well done people, we're providing rush with some publicity, seeing as this thread is staying at the top
