    Default UMEK

im gonna go out on a limb here and prob get slated, but is anybody thinking umeks shit is rather nice l8eley???? i always look at an umek tune and say "Nahh i cant play umek". but i have to admit the man is back on form and going in a very nice direction.

i bought his last on novamute- very nice.

the new consumer recreation is very nice, BMB style.

even one track on the new tortured is well worth a listen.

the problem has never been with his production, always the tracks he plays out!

Umek has made some legendary tracks indeed, but i admit i wudnt really want to listen to anything he does these days, Umek doesnt interest me at all

i've got to say that i love a lot of what umek does, maybe not evry track on a release,

but the Mumps mechanisms EP's are ace,
that one one nova mute was wicked (Ganolam + Arondon),
Brotax on Potential 11 always rocked the Orbit and still gets people going now,
some of the consumer recreations kick ass too (ceroxol + tonatol EP)
and Oranazol on Jericho in funky but driving,

I guess he's one of those producers whose style you either love or hate?

yeah, i've seen him purely rock for a couple of hours (s*it hot!)
and i've seen him dissapear up his own arse in a flurry of pointless pioneer FX noodling,

A lot of his tracks are awesome - His production skillz are mad and some of the stuff he writes is sublime.

Yeah CLR04 is my favourite Umek ep.

I think over 2002-2003 he just released far too much, no quality control. The Voices of Africa series are utter toss.

So what's his new stuff like?...
