Default Have faith in Hard Style...

I know a lot of us have lost faith in labels churning out worthwhile hard style, but the negative attitude by some us in some us aint gonna help!

Of course I'm not a person who wants to tell anyone what to do or think or feel, but lets try to shake off the slating of hardstyle and just searcher harder for the real hard style sound.

I must admit, recent releases have had me down... but we have to keep looking and NOT buying the rubbish. That's the only message we can send to labels to encourage them to not produce rubbish for a quick money making scheme.

I've followed hard style for a reason, because I think it can go on... if we keep telling ourselves its the "next hard house" then it will only end up that way in our minds.

Be patient, keep listening and lets see what happens as opposed to putting it down.

Sorry if I've come across as ranting, I'm not... just speaking my mind guys.

I know... perhaps I'm trying to play ignorant to it so it doesn't get me down... (which I appreciate is a bad thing...) but my nature tells me that going over the bad things of the present never makes things any better.... but hey I'm not one to impose my feelings over an over.

I will discuss this with you wez when I'm back home (really up for a debate of the future of hard style now! lol...).

    :)

i dont think hardstyle has gotten any worse.

it's just become more popular. With more popularity comes more releases. And with more releases, naturally comes more shitty releases.

    you just got to dig.

I agree more labels means more poorer releases, of the same sounding quality, as with everything else in the world, Hardstyle has hit a stale period at the moment, screechy noises, same configured basslines..

But am sure as the day, that it will come through, it only needs a little bit more innovation, and originality from one of the big name producers, i.e Technoboy, for it too pick up, One idea can lead to another 50 ideas.... If you see what am saying..

I mean surely the guys in DP etc, are gettin shit bored off producing the same sounding tracks?

I think they need to try and not be scared off releasing something a little different? Maybe they dont as there scared of the reaction, or otherwise they can't be arsed as the money is too good as it is now to change there layout and sounding of tracks.. Who knows...

But as hakka stated b4 negativity, is not the way foward...

Innovation and Originality is, its only a matter of time, just be patient.

i think this is the same as what is happening with every style of music at the mo ie alot of ppl with a nice new computer thinking they can make music. sure any old sod can sample a kick and a bass and stick a few hoovers and screeches on top. it's easy.

but what isn't easy is making music that sounds fresh and exciting.

so what we're finding is the music that DOES have formula's is getting milked more than ever before. and more obscure music is getting, well even more obscure. hardstyle is a victim of formulas and you'll notice that the good hardstyle tracks out there are the ones that dont breakdown where you expect them to and also ones that obviously arent using the same old samples.

i don't know what the way forward here is. i love hardstyle that isnt churned out crap but it's very, very hard to find good stuff. but then again, it's always been the way - as a dj you have to look for your style and sound and that what sets you apart from the rest i suppose.

i know what i look for in hardstlye and it's now 99% production quality and 1% what the tune sounds like. then over time you start to home in on who really is taking the sound forward. you tend to find that anything really super well produced is usually going to have that x factor that all those other churned out releases dont have. over time you see the artist developing either +vely or -vely. then it's easier to buy/find stuff you like.

like someone else said, hardstyle has become popular. but so has an intel pIII with a cracked copy of reason. we've just got to search harder thanever before.
