recently playing back to back with ben simms

Born of a meeting of minds during '97 (with members' individual
musical exploits stretching back even further) and inspired by the
eclectic sound of London's underground party scene, The Outlet
Collective was formed in the image of the many independently minded,
uncompromising crews that were responsible for nurturing their love
for modern dance music during mid-nineties.

Approaching the end of the decade, 'OC' were concerned to have noted a
shift towards stricter, somewhat restrictive music policies and, no
longer being able to get down to the wider spectrum of sounds they
were accustomed to, began promoting parties in and around 'The Big
Smoke'. Aiming to showcase lesser known artists and record labels
from their immediate vicinity whilst whenever possible taking the
chance to present artists that have been of particular influence over
the years, 'OC' have promoted a wide range of residencies and one-off
events which have forged them a reputation for deep
dancefloor-inspired sounds; a reputation which has led to guest
appearances DJing across the UK and Europe.

Detroit techno is the core & common influence amongst the Outlet
Collective DJ crew, yet each individual member brings their own
diverse influences to the fray... From HipHop, Funk & Disco to the
more experimental end of the electronic spectrum, no musical stone is
left unturned in search of the perfect beat.

The last few years has seen The Outlet Collective to go from strength
to strength, not only continuing to promote their own events, but also
co-promoting 'The Ruck', co-hosting the second room at revered techno
shindig, Split; along the way playing host to the likes of Underground
Resistance, Ben Simms, Daniel Bell, DJ Terrence Parker, Hardwax's DJ
Pete, UK live debuts from Dynarec & Matt Chester and as always an
array of local turntable hero's n' villains."
