Akai mpc 1000 question

I have my mpc 1000 running into my djm 600, the sound was coming out really distorted so I lowerd the db level. This worked grand but the volume is very low now. I want to use it in clubs so I need to make it louder without the distortion. any help at all would be great!

check the gain level, make sure U have the mpc connected 2 the Line in instead of the phono input!

On the djm 600 check the output limiter, a screw on the back...

Thanks alot, I'll try that and let you know. I was thinking of getting a compressor for it, any need do you think? I'm new to hardware btw, so I'm a bit slow to it all.

you would need a bigger mixer with inserts if you want to use a compressor, dont think it would work with your djm

as far as I know the 1000 has a built in compressor that can be assigned to the stereo outs...i've not fooled with it, but it can't hurt.
