find themselves going further and further back in their record collection when gettin tunes out for gigs?
Not overly enthusiastic about the amount of hard trance im liking these days, really really needs to pick up a little.
Wag, Scot project, Alphazone, Kamui, JTB, Log, Uberdruck there arent many peeps putting out new soundin stuff other than the ones mentioned really.
Ultraform and Armoured core provide a bit excitment tho, two young uns from sweden who surely are gonna go onto big things?
Wats everyone elses thoughts, it just occurs to me when im scoutin out new tunes, that i cant keep buyin scot project stuff or uberdruck etc.
Straight on black is nice to drop in the mix, but wat are your thoughts?

personally i dont think theres much hard trance left anymore, im not into 90% of what the uk is churning out and theres very little coming from anywere else right now, the harder techyer stuff im still liking but that equates to about 2 records a month which would make it kinda hard to play a set
in my eyes the whole thing is hanging in there by a thread and has been for a long time, it seems to me that people will settle for a lot less then they used to, rewind 4 years check out 10 releases then fast forward to the present, we havent moved an inch.
theres only been a handful of people who have bothered to try something different, the rest have been sticking to the same tired templates were all mind numbingly used to.
its music i find it hard to take seriously now, sorry about the rant but thats my view on the whole thing

that rant just makes u come across arsey mate, you have decent production skills, so why not give it a bash?
Dont think its half as bad as ur making out, i reckon ur right on not moving forward an inch, but expected somethng more positive from you.
JTB, Log the ****in log, Ultraform etc are in my eyes pushin bounderies.....
why not devote our attention to the talent the scene has left?
I find that a rant on a scene you either dont feel anymore, or are not up to date with. There is stilll expermintation out there, that is clear.
JTB (his production has moved into a league of his own recently, FACT), Log. Ultraform (Evolution is a good example), and SANDERS (Ie ben sanders, frm klasic and sanders) are producing class class ****in hard trance.
Kramer and pogadal can run and jump, as much as u guys love them, there sound was stale, and very shit in the end.
Scot project is still pumpin em out, but at the end of the day, WAG, KAN COLD, DERB etc alll sound like they have had some helpin hand from him.
Wats gonna happen?

i dont appreciate being called arsey when all im doing is getting across something im pretty passionate about in answer to a post were you asked for peoples opinions. im not sure how it can be arsey as i have no angle in whch saying this benefits me.
i cant help the opinion i have on things and its all down to the fact that i care about whats happened, im not being arsey im expressing a opinion that has taken me a long time to form and one that i personally feel has truth behind it.
"you have decent production skills, so why not give it a bash?"
thats all ive been doing for the past couple of years mate, i dont belive i have done anything good enough yet however but im putting in all the time i have to try.
as for mr baptist, his hard trance has been solid, and hes definetly been the strong producer from the uk but its the new turn hes making right now that i consider to be a move forward, the deeper trance hes working on right now sounds great, this is whats needed, music with more depth to it.
as for devoting attention to the talent thats left, thats what got me to form this whole opinion in th first place, were relying on a handful of people to keep it all going, letting the crap come out and falling back on the "oh well at least such and such released a corker this month!"
"I find that a rant on a scene you either dont feel anymore"
thats my point exactally! if i was happy about it then this opinion wouldnt exist, which is why im expressing it to see if anyone out there shares it.
i loved the trance scene man, i was really into hard trance for years, this is not a personal dis to anyone dj producer or listeneer nor is it a dis to people who still belive in the scene, maybe im just not getting something or expecting far to much from dance music but i cant help feel that weve hit a brick wall and no one else has noticed or if they have wont say it.
maybe im being to general i dont know, maybe i dont see the scene in the same way as you and other people might but all i know is it feels like weve been stuck in pause for years, not so much buying a new track any more, its more like buying an slightly altered version of an old one..again...and again.

do you know what...ignore me
i had just come back from work and it was a pretty stressful day, i stand by what i said about my opinion on it all but my first post might of come across a bit to sharp edged and general, after all hard trance is just one part of trance music.
maybe your right and i am not upto date with it all, or more to the point the place hard trance is in right now is no longer what im looking for in music, either way i dont suppose me going on about how disapointed i am with certain things is going to make much difference to that fact.
i could type for hours right now on the ins and outs of what i think and probobly loose focus completley after a few paragraphs so i suppose i better leave it there :)

Lmfao.
Mate dito, I had just come out of one of my more stressful days of my life. If you have ever watched 24, it went a little bit like that. lol
You are spot on, and I see where ur coming from, im personally kinda in the same boat, but i dont belive it hasnt went forward, or there are producers not trying to do it. I still reckon there are.
x
"its more like buying an slightly altered version of an old one..again...and again." That does kinda sum things up generally dude.

i have to agree andreas was behind a lot of the quality old trance in one guise or another,
aquaplex - brightness
junk project - control
junk project - peace n love
russenmafia - afraid of us
solid sleep - cosmic orgasm
composure - universal action
being some of my all time faves, but looking back a few years now after ive collected a great deal of what hes been behind, if you listen to it all theres a fair bit of uninspiring stuff aswell, i think towards the end of his involvment of hard trance he had ran out of ideas and just stuck to his old formula and kept everything pretty straightforward.
thats not to say in his prime he was a massive force in german hard trance but at the same time he wasnt without his weaker releases also, and i think he kinda held onto his sound for a bit to long at the end.
ive still gotta give him big respects for the older stuff though

Maybe you do luke, but they put out millions more (which was maybe there down fall)... there productions went so stale, it wasnt funny. Even some of there techno stuff now, still has that same kramer kick, which amazin as it was, just doesnt sit right in some tracks.
They in the end tried complete uber cheese trance, which is really what i remember them for.
Being amazing - going stale - doing cheese - then stop doing trance altogether.
