View Full Version : How can I record a tape onto my laptop

I have a lead which conects my laptop to my sterao and by using the sound recorder in windows I can record 1min clips onto the laptop but thats all.

I know how to then put that onto mediafire etc.

But I would like to record some whole tapes then share with you guys, how would I do that.

try http://www.roemersoftware.com/free-sound-recorder.html its a free sound recorder.

Its limited to 96kbps mind u but still better than nowt.

or audacity is quite good as well i've heard but never tried myself.

I use either the Free Hi-Q recorder or Soundforge. But the free one does the job for tapes as the quality aint always that good anyway so 96kbps is ok.

The wee program is pretty self explanetary. Just select "Line-In" in the options, pick a name for the file and press record! :cheese:

get cool edit - completely fool proof & more uses than just recording mixes/tapes. you can then edit them etc.

it is very straight forward to use. same idea as fruity loops.

there are some good guides on you tube explaining how to use it. I have just discovered refill packs as well.
