How can you respect the TGs when they have churned out so many copycat productions and formulaic remixes, compared to an artist like Technoboy who has produced a wide variety of different styles of hardstyle under several different aliases (admittedly not as many aliases as i first thought). TG, with their remix of Space Odyssey, have finally cottoned onto the snarling, short bass stabs that the likes of Brain Ovulation pioneered nearly 2 years ago. Technoboy uses this idea to its full potential imo, whereas the TGs have merely tacked it on very badly over the top of their tried (tired) and tested track structure & formula.Quote:

Pots - I'm talking about the older stuff, the TG's were the absolute backbone of the hard-style of hardstyle that we hear today, how many people have sampled their basslines, kick boom, percussion etc etc

i agree with you corbzy. trance generators were a huge influence on the cross-over from hard trance to hardstyle. when germany was rinsing out top notch hard trance a year or two back, t.g were there right at the top with kramer/pogadl, hennes and cold, etc.. they were not going with the hard melodic sound of germany, they were pioneering a darker, harder trance which led to what is now hardstyle.
i'm not that interested in much of their work over the last six months, but remember tunes like you can't stop us and temple of trance. these were and still are amazing tunes, and also pretty groundbreaking at the time.
not saying i'm not a fan of technoboy, although like you pots i always assumed this was an alias for luca antolini, so i may have given him credit for tunes he wasn't involved in. his tunes definitely define the italian hardstyle sound, and he's defo helped to make it what it is now. i think its the fact that he's so prolific that makes him so good. there are few producers who churn out good tune after good tune, but technoboy/luca has for sure

I'm with Pots all the way on this one - Scot Project was once the King of hard trance but he sold out. Selling out has made his recent productions rubbish because they are aimed at the crowd he now entertains. Whilst he is a nice guy, and i'll always love his early stuff, I just can't support him in the role he has chosen now.
Technoboy has been going for years, and I wouldn't consider much of his stuff cheesy. Luca Antolini is far more cheesy, he releases vinyl with radio edits, so you can see what market he is aiming for. As mentioned before, he collaberates with Gius (Technoboy) a lot, so it is probably his idea to cheese some of the tracks up a bit.
Gius is a pioneer - the 'Hardrive' bassline in my opinion is a far better creation than anything the TGs ever made. He has also yet to hit a low point, and all the other producers mentioned in this post have...
BTW Ed, Pots said he didn't know Tuneboy was a collaberation with Luca, not Technoboy - Technoboy is Gius alone.

Imo these 2 are vewry taslented producers but if i had to choose beteen them i would have to say that Luca is deffo the backbone of the pair
