POLITICALLY INCORRECT AND DAMN PROUD OF IT!!
Jello Biafra is a nut-case. Between his running for mayor of San Fransisco and proposing to ban all cars from the downtown district and enforce a manditory uniform of clown outfits for all salaried employees in the same area to some of his lunatic fringe rantings on his spoken word tours, he earned the label of freakshow from me. I got to see him on his spoken word tour and him singing for Lard (him singing for Ministry). Lard was absolute mayhem. They were encouraging civil disobedience to the degree that Al Jourgenson was saying "Destroy this place, we're rich and have money for new equipment. Fuck shit up." Hearing Jello screaming DEEEEESTROOOOOOY while watching people trash the stage was sublime.
You burned it, you donkey!
Yeah, this guy is a lunatic and has a special charisma!
POLITICALLY INCORRECT AND DAMN PROUD OF IT!!
nazi punks f.uck off!
i love the dead kennedy's, i agree best us punk band, the ramones are a fav of mine too.
lol the trance has gone
i like Black Flag a bit of the old Rollins Band
HUsker Du
Black Flag was the first concert I saw without parental supervision. My mother was in an absolute frenzy of panic when I got home. Apparently there were 3 stabbings at the show I was at and I was clueless about it. She heard it on the news. The Rollins Bands first album is without a doubt the best one. I just wish he wasn't such a pretentious prick who writes shit poetry.
Husker Du is still one of my favorite rock bands. Warehouse Songs and Stories was a very formative album in my musical tastes when growing up. I'm a big fan of Bob Mould the singer. His first solo album Black Sheets of Rain is good dark, moody music without being hard or aggressive. He later formed a band called Sugar that had 2 really good albums (Copper Blue and Beaster) that are well worth looking up. Good American style post punk stuff ala Dinosaur Jr or Pixies.
You burned it, you donkey!
will have to grab this, cheers carsten!
Yeah SST was a favorite of mine in the late 80s and early 90s. I still have a couple of their comps. The bands on that label are some of the most influential non-commercial radio bands to ever come out of America. It was run by Greg Ginn from Black Flag fame. Don't forget about Bad Brains, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden, The Descendents and the Screaming Trees. Massively influential label that had it's share of financial woes and lawsuits concerning masters and the ownership of album rights. SST's longtime sound engineer Spot is a bartender here in Austin, Texas and is a friendly guy who likes to talk about music. Since I'm a chef and bring him food, he gives me drinks and talks much shit about Ginn and all the money that he is still owed.
You burned it, you donkey!
