i like Black Flag a bit of the old Rollins Band

Black Flag was the first concert I saw without parental supervision. My mother was in an absolute frenzy of panic when I got home. Apparently there were 3 stabbings at the show I was at and I was clueless about it. She heard it on the news. The Rollins Bands first album is without a doubt the best one. I just wish he wasn't such a pretentious prick who writes shit poetry.
Husker Du is still one of my favorite rock bands. Warehouse Songs and Stories was a very formative album in my musical tastes when growing up. I'm a big fan of Bob Mould the singer. His first solo album Black Sheets of Rain is good dark, moody music without being hard or aggressive. He later formed a band called Sugar that had 2 really good albums (Copper Blue and Beaster) that are well worth looking up. Good American style post punk stuff ala Dinosaur Jr or Pixies.
You burned it, you donkey!
Yeah SST was a favorite of mine in the late 80s and early 90s. I still have a couple of their comps. The bands on that label are some of the most influential non-commercial radio bands to ever come out of America. It was run by Greg Ginn from Black Flag fame. Don't forget about Bad Brains, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden, The Descendents and the Screaming Trees. Massively influential label that had it's share of financial woes and lawsuits concerning masters and the ownership of album rights. SST's longtime sound engineer Spot is a bartender here in Austin, Texas and is a friendly guy who likes to talk about music. Since I'm a chef and bring him food, he gives me drinks and talks much shit about Ginn and all the money that he is still owed.
