    Default Respect: Ben Sims

This guy has got it down tight.

He was rocking it hard at Split on the weekend, shame about the early finish as he had just cranked it up a notch.

I don't often rave about dj's but respect where due.

    Nice one will do.

Was not geeking out (disclaimer!), but from where I was dancing I could see what he was doing and he is one busy guy in the mix!

He is the main man, think he is playing a bit harder at the moment if the last few times ive seen him is anything to go by!

Split was a brilliant night exactly what we needed after a long gap in Techno orientated Splits.

Gutted he chose not to do the Retrovert Boat Party this summer but what can you do?

    Next Split please Sir!

    RESPECT

last time I saw him, at Atomic Jam, he was following Speedy J. No easy task!!

But he nailed it. Came in with some Detroit pads and chords, then scratches a beat in just before the main beat drops. Then mid set he gets a vocal from one track bubbling under 3 others, weaving in and out, and manages to get them all to drop perfectly at the right point so that the mix doesn't sound all over the place.

It amzes me how quickly he gets tracks in time, and keeps them like that, all 5 of them, for the duration.

At the end of the night Chris Finke was like 'what you doin now Ben?' and he says 'i think i'll just stick around and have a practice!'
