People forget that Arsenal were more successful than Man U, in terms of winning the league at least, before Fergie came along, so there's no reason why we shouldn't be again, certainly once he's gone. But who knows what the case may be in 20 years! It's enough time for a team that's never won the top division to overtake Liverpool, theoretically.

it's true that arsenal had won the league 9 times as opposed to Utd's 7. but to say they were more succesful would be exaggeration in the extreme. Utd had won the European Cup, which arsenal hadn't (and still haven't).
