So. Behind their eyes the hope in them was sickening, and in many, dead. They lived from event to event with a subtle terror of the gap between, filling up their lives with distractions to avoid the emptiness where curiosity should have been, and breathing a gasp of relief when the children passed the point of asking questions about what life was for.
Lag, lag, lag, lag, lag......
You completely lost the 'theft' argument when you stated its ok to sample from different genres. Dead in the water mate.
How you cant see that, and i imagine you will continue to try and justify it is beyond me.
Now try and salvage just a little bit of dignity and walk away quietly, like a good little Lag.
You're starting to get embarrassing now. :)
Can we lay off the personal insults please people

nah man. i cant feel embarassed in front of a bunch of guys who think sampling a techno song and calling it ur own is justified and fine. if u dont understand how thats wrong, i dont expect u to understand a lot of things. explaining what i mean and why one is wronger than the other would probably be impossible, especially with cursewords and jokers involved.
im beggining to realise why a lot of people i respect have left this place.
u lads need to manner up if u want to keep this community alive.

thats a pretty generalizing statement there lag,
"U lads" - i presume you're talking about the lads who your arguement is with? and if so how exactly are they responsible for the community here? believe it or not, there are a lot of people here with the same opinion and open-mind.
nowhere, in all my years involved with differant types of music, have i ever read a rule that says "you cannot do what you want" - if someone like krimewave chooses to sample a record (whatever genre) he's free to do so, whatever happens over that sample is no business of anyone but himself, how do you know that he hasnt paid royalties? im not saying he has or hasnt but you're sticking your nose in where frankly its got no business being.
critique his music as much as you like, you're entitled to and thats encouraged, but dont question the guy on his integrity & call him a thief.
yes, i most definetly dont mean u.

have fun
ah, so i dont have the right to have a opinion on anything (especially if its a negative one) untill i do complete and thorough research, and even if im right - who the hell do i think i am?if someone like krimewave chooses to sample a record (whatever genre) he's free to do so, whatever happens over that sample is no business of anyone but himself, how do you know that he hasnt paid royalties? im not saying he has or hasnt but you're sticking your nose in where frankly its got no business being.
dude, why are even talking to me? DO YOU KNOW ME? DONT JUDGE ME =))))
lol, i cant believe u actually typed this out. think about it again

see lag, by leaving out a sentence when you qoute me, its very easy to make it look like i meant one thing when i actually said another.
heres the bit you skipped
now where does that say you are not entitled to an opinion?critique his music as much as you like, you're entitled to and thats encouraged, but dont question the guy on his integrity & call him a thief.
basically what you did was libalous - you accused him of being a thief without prior knowledge to the situation.
if thats how you choose to air your opinions then fine.. but dont be surprised when you raise a few hairs.
look under the second quote. ;)

yeah got to agree, though i woudln't go so far as to say it's libel...just not very friendly or respectful
...big difference between saying "i don't care for it when people use such-and-such samples. to me it's not what i look for or want to see in the genre"
and
people need to be a bit more careful about what they write in life sometimes

ok, so you can type a link to a copyright law site. that still doesnt show how you came to the conclusion that krimewave is a thief, does it?
heres a few possiblities to digest:
1. he has paid royalties to original artists on tracks.
2. he knows original artists (remember that krimewave is in techno a long time and you dont know who he's friends with)
3. he didnt pay for or get permission to use samples
now, how can you be so sure without proof that he's a thief?
and more importantly what gives you the right to call him out over it considering that its actually none of your business
unless you happen to be the original artist.. are you secretly 808state?
actually what i said is "techno artists sampling other techno artists
how sad
like hes retarded enough to be unable to play 4 tones on a synth"
than i called him a con artist, and only then did i call him a thief.
do you remember: "do you honestly expect someone who's sampled "the punisher" for example to name their track "the punisher" also?
sounds like a surefire way to get your record taken off the shelves or get sued to me." ?
i have a certain opinion about edm "artists" sampling other edm artists. i also have a couple of prejudices, which, unfortunately, i never got wrong.
id really like to see the licence for that sample. and all the other samples inigiton BORROWED lol. ill gladly take back what i said. so...?

didn't see that. but if someone says a person is a thief, and it's not true or there's no proof under the applicable laws, it's libel under UK law. maybe US too, i don't know.
but if he didn't say "you're a thief," then it's not libel even if implied. then it's just disrespectful.

haha. quite nicely done, how u made me look like the bad guy again for calling the man a thief two times already (which is wrong, as u say, because how the hell do i know if hes a thief - even though, krimewave, who seems to be better informed about ignition works, suggested that naming the song after the original would lead to sueing). anyway, i seem to be incompetent for further discussing, as im a bad man who does no good, and i would really like to apoligise to mr ignition for calling him a thief, to all involved for saying sampling techno and calling other peoples work ur own is wrong etc etc...
this forum will see me no more. rejoyce!
