external soundcard fw or usb?

My soundcard is USB, rather than firewire:

I know a couple of people who use 7, and they say it is as flashy as Vista, but as stable as XP, so you should be in luck. TBH, I still use XP myself, but will upgrade to 7 soon. Am just waiting a couple of months to see any issues come up, and to make sure all 3rd party drivers (midi controller etc) are sorted out.
