Blackout Audio - The Story So Far

Posted in Blackout Audio News

Blackout Audio was founded in 2000, as an outlet for The Anxious to release the music they loved onto vinyl. Some of the best artists of the time appeared over the years that followed including massive techno names such as Chris McCormack, Inigo Kennedy and the Space DJz.

A music forum was also established, as a way for them to share their thoughts about the music industry with like-minded individuals from across the globe. Unsurprisingly it blew up to be one of the biggest techno music forums on the internet.

The logical progression from this was a Radio Show, which was commissioned by Moscow’s Megapolis Radio on 89.5FM. Presented by UK music chameleon Mark EG, this also blew up to be one of the biggest techno sensations in Russia, as well as on the internet. Names such as Chris Liebing, Kevin Saunderson and many more innovators appeared.

Up until 2009, Blackout Audio continued to release vinyl but the world of digital beckoned and recently this format was also introduced into the release schedule. Blackout Audio Remastered was set up to re-release newly mastered versions of classic Blackout Audio vinyl releases.

This year sees the Blackout Audio machine move forward. With a new logo design, a new website, a brushed up and continuing forward thinking music policy – this is an exciting time for all involved.
